Getting very nervous....
Hi Everyone
We are counting down the weeks now before we 'land' .....getting very nervous and stressed...organising our Springer Spaniel's (chloe) transport (she is too big for excess baggage), cant sell our house even though we have reduced it to over £15 000 below market value and our money is tied up in our property, we have been struggling to find rented accommodation who will accept pets in Red Deer although we have now found a very hopeful house to rent. There is so much to think about...are there any tips we can give from our experiences??? Not many but here they are....Always c heck out BE and the Wiki !! DTHR are great, I have a contact for any Nursing or Medical staff who are interested!...we saw lots of recommendations for Anglo Pacific on BE and they seem fab.....Air Canada seem really helpful re:Puppy transport..overall latelyour luck hasn't been great with regards to our move to Alberta....but do you know what? We fell in love with Alberta (Calgary and Red Deer) on sight..so it's worth it...for anyone who like us who feel a little overwhelmed or disheartened right now...remember the dream, it will all turn out right in the end...
See you in Canada
Good Luck to everyone

We are not quite at same stage as you having just sent our passports off for visa issue 10 days ago.
Can understand you being nervous as it is a big move. We plan on a two week holiday in July if we get visas by then. This will be just to land and visit my brother. He lives near Shellbrook in Saskatchewan. Beautiful area.
Hope to land in Edmonton and drive across to there. Air Canada do direct flight to Edmonton now which cuts it from three flights down to two for us.Usually do Teesside/Amsterdam/Minneapolis/Saskatoon.
We have our house to sell etc on our return but in no rush.
Red Deer is very nice as we stayed there on way back from Rockies trip in 2006.Will be handy for Edmonton and in easy reach of Calgary and The Rockies if you want.
Go with the flow.
Good luck
Rob

HI
makes you feel any better we are int he same boat, visa on the way , house reduced by 10K , but not planning to go until August, again finding a place that takes dogs a a pain ....
keep the faith , just remember how it has taken to get here , and how many people would gladly change places with you...

Re: Getting very nervous....
Thanks Everyone
Enjoy your trip in July, Rob we have never been to Sask but have heard it's very beautiful. Good luck with the house sale both, it really is a pain yes! Our house is only a year old so in good order, a good size and we can't even get anyone through the door to look! We have changed agents, dropped the price 3 times but nothing....we were told no point in an Open House because we are not on a main road (tucked away in a cul de sac). It's been on the market since October we are running out of time and ideas.
But as you so rightly say many people would change places with us and we are indeed very grateful to be going to Canada and count our blessings.
Good luck with the Dogs, 4bells just waiting for delivery of vari kennel. We are going to leave it open with a toy and things in there so Chloe can get used to it before we go.
Have a good easter all
