Default Getting Permanet Res Visa Put In Passport

Hi

My husband and i sent off our passports from Canada to london after receiveing a request for passports, photographs and updated info. Our registered post arrived in London on 7th July, but the service we got (unknown to us) only tracked it as far as the UK. We assume it has been delivered ok, but as we had only just arrived in Canada when we posted it, the return address we put on it was "General Delivery, Golden Post Office, Golden, BC, Canada V0A 1H0". Should we have heard something by now or will it be arriving back soon. Having no passport makes me nervous

Hello Vicki. Congratulations on getting the PPR!!

Our passports took 2.5 weeks once they arrived in London....but some seem to get back sooner, and others later. I know what it is like when you don't know where they are. Royal Mail managed to lose ours for a day. Thankfully they turned up a day later at CHC London.

Rob

PS - remember there are some Royal Mail strikes going on at the moment (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/6914771.stm), and heavy rain causing flooding, so there will likely be delays to the mail.

Thanks Rob

Yeah, we thought we had paid for registered mail but in fact we only got to track it as far as London and then who knows what happened!! Hopefully they will turn up soon.

There are some people who have mentioned it took them four weeks in the UK to get theirs via postal submission, so I wouldn't worry. In fact I wouldn't start worrying unless 15th August or so comes and you haven't received them by then.
