Default Getting married in September - how do I change my name?

Hey

I'm getting married in 4 weeks time My partner and I both have PR cards but I'm changing my surname, I have a new passport in my married name already but I don't know how to change my PR card or if I need to change it? We don't live in Canada at the moment but I don't want to leave it unchanged and then not be able to enter the country. Help!

If you are not married, how did you get a passport in that name? You cannot apply for change on name in Canada without a marriage certificate.

If you are going to be married and want to go abroad immediately after the wedding, you can get a passport post-dated in your married name up to 3 months in advance. This is what I have already. I just want to know how to change my PR from my maiden name to my married one.

Supply your marriage certificate, along with a name change application form and one will eventually be mailed to your Canadian address.
