Getting citizenship.
Dear Mr. Miller,
Thanks for such prompt reply.
So I understand that a PR (my sister) must apply for PR Card while
residing in Canada.
If she enters Canada before Dec. 31,2003 with her landed immigrant
paper and applies for the PR card immediately, what is the required
duration of stay to get the citizenship? Does this period of duration
start when she enters the country or after she gets her PR card?
Anita

Re: Getting citizenship.
Current citizenship law requires to accumulate 1,095 days of residence in
Canada within 4 years preceding citizenship application. There is a new
proposed law just tabled in the Parliament which if approved and implemented
will require the accumulation of the same 1,095 days of physical residence in
Canada, but within 6 years prior to citizenship application.
