Am almost there with my big dossier to send back, but wanted to run a couple of things by you guys pls:
1) Native Script - the forms ask for mine and family member names in English and 'Native Script'. But as I was born and raised in the UK, English is my First Language, so do I need to put names in Punjabi also which is my second language?
My wife on the other hand was born in India and so her native script I presume would be Punjabi, as her second language is English.
2) I have moved some funds around to simplyfy things and need about£11,500 unencumbered for a family of 4. This has involved depositing £10,000 into one account recently. I have obtained both letters and bank statements verifying my balance but these show this recent deposit of £10,000 by cheque.
Would this suffice, or does the total amount required have to be in this bank account for a certain period?
Many thx
Biloo

I dont think the proof of funds is a problem, no one will really check until you land anyway, as thats the point you need to prove you have it.
Probably more likely to get expert opinions in the immigration area though...

Hi
I may be missing something, but are you applying as a FSW to Sydney? If you are, then you should read the instructions as to what you are required to send, references are not one of them. Please read : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...ns/skilled.asp

The two references I am waiting for are:
1) my previous place of work - reference from the employer's HR Dept to verify I worked from them.
2) a character reference for my wife from her opticians regulatory body to show she has been a member for over 10 years.
I am applying for FSW at sydney, and was under impression that these were required. Maybe I have misread something somewhere?

double check where you will be sending off all your evidence. It should be your local visa office e.g. London (not sydney)

Oh dear!
Pls forgive my ignorance, but I may have been collating for Sydney instead of London then!
The letter I got asked for I think, 9 Sections (am at work now so haven't got this to hand) including Forms, Pasport Copies, Proof of Education and Work experience, Proof of relatives in Canada and Security Checks.
From the Internet guide I read, I assumed I was to send all of this evidence including the references to Sydney.
Could you pls direct me the right page or URL link which tells me wheather I should send this stuff to London or Sydney, as was not clear in the URL you proveded previously?
I may have wasted the last 2 months collating this stuff...

Only the initial application for the new ministerial instructions post feb 2008 are going to sydney, with full documentation going to the local visa office once asked later on

Hi
1. Assuming that you are applying after 28/02/08 have you sent your preliminary application to Sydney? If not then here is all you send
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kit...s/IMM5612E.PDF
2. If you have already received a positive result from Sydney, you would have received a "120" day letter/email from London outlining what you have to send to London within 120 days for your application to be considered.

I went home last night anxiously and checked the letter.
My earlier posts may not have been clear, but I applied back in 2007 and paid the appkication fee in full, and received this follow up letter in June this year.
It was sent from the Candian Embassey in London and says it concerns my application from Permanent Residency which they received in May 2007.
It goes on to say 'We are now ready to begin processing your application and require additional information and documents. Please provide the documents listed overleaf.'
Overleaf there are 9 sections to send in including various forms.
Nowhere on the letter does it say 'Send to this address' - so I assume I should all documents and forms to London?

Hi
Yes then everything to London. You have to specify in any questions, whether you applied prior to 28/02/08 or after, as the processes are quite different. Also if after 28/02/08 whether you are applying to Sydney or you have the 120 day letter from Sydney. Relieves a lot of guessing.

Thank you, point noted about stipulating when first applied - luckily I posted this thread, otherwise I would have stupidly sent the file to Canada!
I was thinking of posting the file to the Embassey in London, but now cos of al this postal strike business, may deliver it by hand myself (as I work in Central London). Has anyone done this, or even can we do this?

I did it a couple of weeks ago.
Go to this address (near bond street tube station).
Canadian High Commission
38 Grosvenor Street
London, W1K 4AA
United Kingdom
The opening hours are on the website (something like 8.30 am to 4.30pm). You'll have to queue up if you go before 11. Go in the door and ask to be shown where the drop box is. Mine wouldnt fit so the security guy sent someone to take it off me personally.
