Default FBI Fingerprinting Time

Hi
I sent my Fingerprint card to FBI on April 3rd.When I called them
to check on the status many times they keep telling me that it does
not show up on their system. I sent it by USPS Certified Mail and
it does not show that it has been delivered. The Post
Office says they can refund me the postal order for $18 but they do
not know what happened to my mail.

Does anybody has this problem with the FBI?. The FBI lady told me that
they are backed up a lot and asked me to wait till next week.
I think that it reached the FBI but for some reason the status is not
updated on the USPS site. Also I did not get my mail back if it is not
delivered. I am not sure if I have to resend my fingerprint card again
to FBI by FedEx this time. Its very frustrating.

Please share your experience.
Thank you

I think they are taking 6 weeks now to do the fingerprinting and
mostly they finish the process one or two week after the information
enters their system( previously it used to take two weeks to enter
their system and a week to complete the process).
Since you sent it by certified mail, you shouldn't be worrying too
much.

Hi Pal,
Even i had sent my fingerprints on march 30th thru DHL, i
called up DHL and they told me it was delivered on the 2nd of April.
Since i'm not in USA, i asked my friend to call them up and the lady
said till now it is not entered in their system. so i think there is
some serious back log.
It is very bugging since i've got all my other documents ready and i'm
just waiting for this one.
Let me know if get you get any status update on yours.

thanks
cathy

Hi Cathy
Yep.There is a big backlog. From another message board, I found out
that someone who sent it on March 25th also has not gotten it back.So
people who applied before us are still waiting.

I will definitely update my status to you either here or by email.

Thanks
-Pal

Pal, Cathy, Sandeep0909

Mines actually went out on the April 10th and they told me the same thing that its not in the system yet and that it take 4 weeks to show up in the system. What is funny is they havnt even cashed the cheque yet. I have not even recieved the docs back yet so i'm thinking its still in the works.

Good to know i aint the only one going through the same thing.

Will update with any info i get. Thanks.

Hi Cookie,
What is funny is they havnt even cashed the cheque yet. ---???
Did you send them a personal check instead of Money Order or Cashiers Check???
In that case they will send you the Documents Back without checking...
You have to attach new money Order or cashiers Check and a written application (individually for each of the members applying)
as to why u need a fingerprinting.
If you havent done any of those my advise is dont wait for them to send you the documents back and waste valuable time rather go ahead and do the fingerprinting once again and send them along with the fingerprinting card(filled up) with Money Order or cashiers check individually for every members and Individual application for every member applying

Actually i got a money order made from my Bank and what is what i sent. I can check the status on the MO to see if they have cashed it and as of yesterday they didnt. I am not sure what to do cause i heard about the backlog but i dont know why they wouldnt cash the checque in 2 weeks. Plus i have not even recieved the docs back. They said the only time they send the documents back is if theyr in incomplete information/docs etc.

Thanks
