Fast track timelines, FYI...
Just to let anyone intersted know our latest....
My PR application began processing in London UK on 24th Sept 08. Just received our 90 day letter from London CIC today. Asked for renewed work permit (as mine expires 12th April 09) payslips to prove employed in job listed on work permit, and an updated letter from employer confirming job is offered on permanent basis once PR issued. They state that once this information is received they will fast track my PR application. My occupation is not on 'the list' but it is a specialist occupation (I design Snoezelen Multi-Sensory environments for people with special needs).
Applied for new LMO 28th Feb 09 and received it 17th March 09.
Sent renewal of Work Permit application off 3rd March 09, phoned them to give them the file number for my new LMO, and officer said they would start processing work permit app at end of April, and it would be two months before we would get it..............
Thought about getting work permit at airport, but worried about losing implied states, so phoned CIC helpline today, as I need to go to Houston Tx for conference in April, and they said there should be no problem to renew my work permit when I come back into Canada at the airport (as long as my paperwork is in order). This way I should have it sooner, and be able to send copy to London UK. They said if I get it issued at the airport they will refund me the fee I have already paid to Vegreville.
So, some progress at last, but the wait ain't over yet........
