Family sponsorship PR
I posted a while back to ask if there had been any impact of the new lottery scheme for the family sponsorship (Parents/grandparents) route. But now I just wanted to update that there could be an upside to the new Family Sponsorship lottery scheme. I know it's hugely unpopular, but in our case, it certainly seems to be achieving the CICs aim to reduce the backlog of applications. We were lucky enough to get our application in before the lottery system was introduced and it was received by CIC in January 2016. We were fully prepared for a 3-4year wait as was being reported on the site here, but out of the blue in February 2018 our COPR arrived. We were gobsmacked but delighted and can now plan our semi-retirement in Canada and enjoy a new adventure with our son and grandchildren. Happy Days.
