Family class application from o/s Canada
Hi,
I am just starting the process of applying for P/R as a family class member.
My wife is a Canadian Citizen who has lived with me in the U.K for 10 years. We have two children 5 and 2 yrs and are awaiting Citizenship cards for them.
I am hoping someone may be able to offer advice in relation to my application.
As I understand the system my wife although living outside of Canada can still sponser me. I am however the main wage earner.
Does this effect my application?
What additional forms or documents am I likely to need?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Paul.

Sponsorship by your wife would considerably speed your application.

Re: Family class application from o/s Canada
If you go to www.cic.gc.ca and look at teh section
for sponsoring a family
member you will see the more specific instructions for a Canadian Citizen
residing exclusivly outside Canada. She can sponsor you as her spouse whilst
remaining in the UK basicaly on the condition she returns to Canada as soon
as you get your PR visa. Everything is pretty much submitted to CPC
Mississauga in Ontario the same as if she was in Canada she just wont have
the Canadian tax forms etc but thats simple to explain in a letter. The
guide explains it properly.

I'm not sure if his question has been answered. I sponsored my
brother, and had to demonstrate independent financial ability. That
seems to eliminate the option for them.
