Dear Group Members,

Please forgive a complex set of questions, but I am desperate for
information I cannot seem to find elsewhere.

Background:

I am a US citizen who applied for permanent residence to Canada on 4
December 2002. My file is being processed in Buffalo. I am a family class
applicant being sponsored by my Canadian-citizen wife to whom I have been
married for thirty years,

My physical was completed in Kingston, ON on March 12, 2003 and I submitted
my last required document (a police certificate from Poland on May 3, 2003.

I am currently living in a home we purchased in Ontario.

Questions:

1. What must I do in order to be authorized to work?

2. What does the term "Approved in Principle" mean?

3. Will being "approved in principle" help me to be permitted to work and to
begin the three-month waiting period for OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance).

Approval in Principle and it's benefits apply only to spousal cases filed
from within Canada your case is processed abroad, thus you won't get AIP and
you won't be able to apply for open work permit nor health coverage.

You are going to have to wait until your application is finalized and you
become a PR. Work permits in spousal applications are for those process in
Canada.

An In-Canada application which has been approved for processing in Canada.

Since your application is not being processed in Canada, the AIP does not
apply to you. Your 90 days for OHIP will begin once you are "landed"

I have a questions regarding all this .....

If you are processed for inland applicant..... once you recieve AIP can you
apply for OHIP etc.... or do you still have to wait till you are "landed" ?
