Express Entry and Proof of Funds
Hello All
My son has been invited to apply through express entry. He applied for the CEC stream, however, he is also eligible for the FSW stream. His ITA indicates to apply via FSW stream.
He has been in a full-time job since Aug 2013 and his contract has just been extended until June 2016 by which time hopefully, he will have his PR. He earns $85,000 a year. Does he need to show that he has $12000 in his bank account or will his earnings be suffice?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Poppit.

Re: Express Entry and Proof of Funds
You do not have to show that you have these funds if:
you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.
Proof of funds – Skilled immigrants (Express Entry)

FL... Regardless of that... ExpressEntry via fsw, job offer and temp work permit does require proof of funds even though theoretically it shouldn't..

Re: Express Entry and Proof of Funds
Thank you for the quick response Former Lancastrian.
He is currently on his 2nd IEC visa, and has been teaching at a Polytechnic full time since he arrived in Aug 2013. His visa is an open work permit. He does not have an AEO or LMIA. His contract has been extended for another year in the hope that his PR application is accepted.
Given he is authorised to work, does this exempt him from showing proof of funds? It's the AEO part that concerns me!
Your help and advice is much appreciated?

What's an AEO?
My husband has an application in via fsw with an LMO and work permit. Working in the country for the past year. We were still asked to provide six months of documents detailing proof of funds...

Hi Tirytory
Thank you for your response!
An AEO is arranged employment opportunity.
Did you supply funds with your initial application or have CIC requested it since?

It was on the initial profile- no option not to fill it in (for us anyway) Wait though your son has an ITA so did he fill it in there?

Same as Tirytory (*waves*)...
I'm in Canada as a TFW, LMO, Employed, etc.
Applied for Express Entry except I qualified under CEC
Express Entry document upload required Proof of Funds. Even though it shouldn't have done.
CIC Enquiry Line person said 'if it asks for it, provide it'

Hi
1, If you show less than the required settlement funds, you will only be considered for CEC not eligible for FSW.
2, As to the AEO it no longer exists in EE, you require a LMIA for PR or a dual LMIA to get the 600 points

If you qualify for CEC, it would appear that the system automatically disqualifies you from FSW anyway...it will only 'qualify' you under one stream.

Hi
1. No, if you have the required proof of funds and have worked in Canada at a skilled job, it will qualify you for both streams.

Because I qualify under both streams, but it says that I only qualify under CEC....

Thanks for the responses.
He applied under CEC but because he qualifies under both streams his ITA indicates he should apply under FSW. He has the funds, so will provide the proof as requested on the checklist.
Medical tomorrow and then submit the full application.
