Experts help - Proof of Funds request for study visa
#1
Hi all,
I know that proof of funds has been discussed many times in different contexts but I cannot seem to get an answer for a study visa.
CHC have requested that I send them 2 things before they continue processing. Number 1 states:
1. Proof of funds i.e your (or your sponsors) up to date bank or savings account statement showing end balance of funds available, or student bursary (not general bank letter)
the 2nd request I can deal with easily.
All my money is tied up in our house which is on the market and we have accepted an offer on. If my bank agrees to transfer enough money into a bank account for me and then I send my statement reflecting this amount to CHC will this suffice? Or will CHC want proof that it has been there for a while ?
My course starts in Sept so I need to turn it round ASAP
as usual any help always appreciated

The question is really whether the fact that the bank will put the money there for me and then 3 days later I send CHC a copy of the statement?? - will this be OK?

The amount that we as a family of four have used for a study visa is £25k. It works out that you must show proof of ability to pay for the course, and living expenses.
A word to the wise would be - step away from bank statements and have a letter from your bank outling the amount you have in your account. Then put together your application. If it's just you on your own I think its 10 but double check. Once you start messing about with statements and where the money has come from the CIC could look at is a loan and at that point deny you.
We go on the study/work route on Thursday morning and all of the above worked for us. Also, you not having sold your house is also a reason for you to return at the end of your course, immigration always likes to have that kind of weight if they ask the question. Although apparently walking through immigration with all the study permit stuff is quite straight forward.
If I can help let me know and I will!

Thanks Mrs M,
it was just because they stated not general bank letter in their request that we have asked the bank to put x amount into the account for us..
Do you not think this will work?
