I'm a US citizen, currently in Canada as a visitor. I'm applying for EA as a "Charitiable Worker without Renumeration". Originally, I was told by the Call Centre that I could apply thru Vegreville, but my application was returned unprocessed with directions to apply through a Visa Office outside Canada.

How long does it take for EA thru Buffalo?

Once, EA is received, do I have to cross the border to "activate" it - or is it valid once I receive the forms in the mail since I am already in Canada?
