Hi, can anyone help. I have been trying to download forms for a Spousal Application. I am getting nowhere as it keeps saying we need an up to date Adobe Reader which we have. I have filled the forms out from downloading them online, but when I've scanned them and uploaded them it says they are too big. I have tried all sorts if ways and then I'm worried the forms I'm getting online may not be up to date and there seems to be nowhere on the CIC website with any information to help. I'm.so frustrated, I've spent days and days wasting my time and getting nowhere. Thanks in advance for any guidance

First thought is the dpi (dots per inch) value you are scanning them at. Have a look and see if when you're scanning you can specify that. I'd say 200 dpi should be legible enough, and small enough to upload.
The second is what are type of output file is the scanner set to generate? If it's image, then that could be another reason, so see if you can scan to a PDF file as that could also be smaller in size.

Thanks for your reply, I dont have a scanner so I photographed the documents from my phone and changed them to PDF but they were too large. It seems to be a problem with the CIC website for these particular forms. I'm not sure how to go about it really

Are you definitely submitting online? You can no longer submit a spousal app any other way.

But if you do need a scanner and don’t have one then just download an app - I use Genius Scan which is great.
