Does an Industrial Pharmacist require PEBC exam clearance??
Hi,
I am from India having applied for PR in canada. My spouse who is
having masters degree in pharmacy, is working with an Indian
pharmaceutical company as 'drug regulatory affairs associate'. I think
she clearly comes under category of *INDUSTRIAL PHARMACIST*.Now my
question is will she need to clear PEBC exams to work with a canadian
pharmaceutical company ? or in other words does an industrial
pharmacist need to clear PEBC exams? I have gone through this
newsgroup and haven't got any satisfactory answer. I will highly
appreciate if somebody can clear my doubts.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Vikram

If your wife wants to work as and use the title of pharmacist then she must
be licensed to do so in Canada.

Hai Vikram,
Well if u want to work as an industrial pharmacist in
Canada , there is no need for you to complete your PEBC examinations.
But if u want to practise Pharmacy, then its Mandatory for u to
complete ur PEBC. Mr Miller, might not be completely sure about what u
asked. If u have asked MR Miller in the right way , u might have got a
good answer. So no need to go for the exams if u want to do as a
industrial pharmacist.

Vikram:
Industrial pharmacists do not require licensing and consequently they
do not need to pass examinations. It is only when they are dispensing
prescription drugs for use by the public that exams and licensing is
required. There is a good demand in Toronto in both research based and
generic manufacturing. Check the web for companies. Most post their
openings and requirments.
