Do they even look at your ticket and lugagge?

Do they even look at your ticket and lugagge?
I have read some posts where people say that you have to get a one way ticket or you have to bring big bags so the immigration officials dont get suspicious about your decision of going permanently. Personally I am going on a two way ticket because in my country it costs less than one way tickets(Stupid but true). When I d traveled I have never shown my ticket to anyone after I board the plane. And when I reach customs I already passed the Immigration desk. Is it different in Canada when you are landing?

You shouldn't have a problem. When I arrived, it was on a 1 way ticket
to London, England, flying via Vancouver because that (including a free side
trip to LA or San Fran) was less expensive than a 1 way to Vancouver.

you don't have to have a one way ticket at all. In fact probbaly very few
people do because as you pointed out 90% of the time a return ticket is
cheaper. In fact landing and becomnig a PR is probably the first time no one
will care about your ticket. Coming as a visitor they want to see it so they
can see when you are leaving and how long you are staying, but as a PR you
don't have to leave anymore so it doesn't make any difference to them.

You'll get your lugagge after you passed immigration office.
Immigration officer is interesting only in your documents and money.
