Do I need to get visitors status....????
I have a few questions I need answered. 1. I recently got married and am
living here in Canada with my new wife and am wanting to get my paperwork in
motion. I was told I did not need to have a visitors pass to be in Canada
once I got married. I am from the United States. 2. I recently received the
application in the mail and according to that application I am required to
have a visitors pass. 3. How and where would I have to go to acquire this
document and is there a cost to me. I am close to the Windsor area. Thank
you in advance for your time and any help would be very much appreciated.

You must keep your status valid through the entire process. As American you
were admitted as visitor for up to 6 months and you must apply for status
extension about 4 to 6 weeks prior to the expiration of your 6 months
admission. See here:
