Do I need a Canadian police check?
Like the title says, I had to pop into the local RCMP detachment recently, in the course of conversation the officer enquired if I had got my Canadian police check for PR. I've checked the wiki and it only mentions UK police checks. If I'm inland spousal sponsorship and residing here, even with visitor status, do I need a police check from the RCMP as well?
It's not a headache if required, small friendly town with small detachment, the officer gave me the direct number to arrange a time when an officer would be there to do it, $25 to get it, and it comes back to me in 2-3 weeks..obviously with a 2 year plus processing time for inland spousal applications I wouldn't even apply for the check until a year has passed.
I may have misread the initial inland application forms but I was sure it only asked for a UK check.
thanks in advance.

Re: Do I need a Canadian police check?
You are only required to get an RCMP check for a PR application if this is specifically requested during processing:
