Hi All,

After the divorce I got back my maiden name. I am about to apply for Canadian PR. Do
I have to get a new passport with my maiden name before I apply? My current passport
is valid for another 10 years.

Thank you

Immigration will only use the name on documents that are the same as the current
passport. I rushed to change my passport as I didn't want my PR papers in my previous
name, as they cannot be amended after the event!!!

My advice is get the passport done NOW!!
