Discretionary Entry

I am a nurse working in the UK and believe I can find a job relatively easily in
Canada. Hovever it is not on the occupations list and the offer of employment method
seems extremely difficult. I am told the best option is 'discretionary' entry. I
seem to qualify in every other way but am not sure how this works, ie. whether it is
a totally seperate method or works alongside the points system. Anyone got
experience of that or where I can find more information. Thanks in anticipation as
