Hubby has been head hunted for a job in Canada and we have a problem.
We haven't given up our PR status but we are definitely out of 2 out of 5 years rule. What are our options for returning. Work permit?
What would immigration people do with us if we just turned up at the airport? We don't have PR cards. Just the IMM1000 I think or somthing like this in our old passports.

Turning up at the airport is probably a bad idea. You'll have to go down the LMO and work permit route. You may have to officially give up your PR status as well.

Hi
Show up at the airport, you get reported, removal order issued, have 30 days to appeal, lose appeal, get removed.

Go to CHC voluntarily relinquish PR (won't do it by mail), then apply for TWP.
Hello again,
Thanks for all replies so far.
OK. Here are some more questions.
The employer agreed to apply for LMO. Do you know how long this might take?We are talking about Ontario. Once they get it and forward it to us what do we do with it? We are in US right now. Do we take it to our local canadian embassy in US and ask for work permit? If yes ,how long are we likely to wait for WP to be issued?
I guess once in Canada we could apply for PR again. Is that straight forward?

You need to check either the Wiki or the relevant province's healthcare website for info.

If you have US green cards, you should consider the consequences of abandoning your US residence.
