Default Dear Experts (Mr. Miller/Humphries/Matcalfe) Kindly Help!

Dear Experts:

I and my wife have now been convoked for an interview at CHC Colombo on 29th September 2003. My wife is in a family way and expecting in first week of October. She therefore would not be able to travel to Colombo. Kindly advise if I should inform the embassy now about my wife's inability to attend the interivew or let them know at the time of interview her reason of not attending.

Further, my CAIPS show I score 76 against required 70 under IRPA. I have already provided the new forms, IELTS and proof of funds. The interview letter requires the following documents to bring to interview.

1: Original Academic Documents.
2: Detail Experience reference letters (previous and current)
3: Proof of Funds
4: Police Clearance.

Kindly advise what could be the purpose of the interview when I have fullfilled all the requirements and that I score sufficient points as well.

I will really appreciate your response.

Thanks and best regards,

You should notify visa post about your wife's condition and tell that she
won't be able to attend the interview.

Fact that you think you scored 76 points and that you submitted everything
is irrelevant. There is definitely something missing or requiring additional
verification, clarification or evaluation, thus interview is required. I
can't tell you what is the exact reason for the interview nor how to prepare
yourself for it without full assessment of your case.

If your wife is not in a condition to travel and you are aware of that
now, you must alert the visa office that she will not be able to
attend and the reason, they could tell you to come yourself or to wait
until she is capable of traveling. In terms of the interview they want
to see the original documents upon which they made the decision that
you get 76 points, that was a paper screening and with you in front of
them they can verify the intergrity of the screening process and the
points they awarded for the various selection factors.
