Default - Med exam 60-day requirment, how serious/extension possible?

Hello,

We are in US and submitted our application around November 2001. Recently, we
got the letter for med exam along with the interview waiver letter.
The letter instructed that the medical exam is to be completed in 60
days. During the period of waiting any response for our application,
we had a baby boy. We are adding our son into the application. The med
forms we got only for me and my spouse.

Does anyone know how serious they take this 60-day requirement? Will
they destroy our application if we do the med after 60 days?

I simply want to do the med later, to not run in the situation that
the my medical examination results expire before the baby's addition
and his med are completed.

Can one get a extension for doing the med exam beyond 60 days?

Anybody has the experience that his/her case succeeded with a med more
than 60 days?

Shall we undergo medical examination for myself and my spouse first
and do it for my son later when we get form for him, or shall we wait
until we get the form for my son and then go for the medical
examination for all of us?

Thanks

Majju

Just make sure that you add baby to your application well before 60 days
deadline and include note that you'll be doing medicals all together.

I would wait for say around 50-55 days for the medical form of your
baby to come and if it doesn't come by then, get medicals done for
yourself and your spouse and then do the medicals for your baby as
soon as the forms arrive. Their shouldnot be much differntial in
medical timings this way.

Ash,
By any chance do you have any idea what happens if we cross 60 days
limit by a couple of week.

Do they discard the application ???

Thanks
