Default Dear Andrew and Jim - More enquiry from Cairo.

Dear Andrew/Jim:

Please note that Cairo had written to my current company and they had
replied promptly.

Again Cairo had written to my consultant asking for more information
from a company I had served in 1999. I tried calling my ex-company but
the number doesn't exist. I spoke to one of my colleagues who tells me
that they "shut down". If such is the case what am I to provide them
for clarification? I was with them till 2001, had I had this enquiry
at that time, no problems. (Remember my application was lodged in Nov
1999)

I was a programmer/Analayst at that time, with a meagre stipend as
compensation for my training. A project I did for a client at that
time has all managers changed, they are reluctant to help now.

What do I tell my consultant? or what more to provide to Cairo?
Honestly I have nothing more to provide. Good news is there is some
movement now, I hope its in the right direction.

Both your replies would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Ozramesh.

You should try to show them that the company has closed and no longer
exists. FOr the other matter you might just ask for evidence that you
worked there on a particular task.

It seems CHC Cairo is interested in your earlier job as you worked with them upto 2001 and all experience there after, does not add upto 4 years.

It is not clear from your post, what exactly they want.
1) Confirmation that you really worked.
2) Want to assure that you had a related work experience matching with your PR application
3) What else.?? Are they interested in knowing company profile you workred for >> Least likely.

1999 is just 5 years rewind, may be you can catch hold of your superviser , where ever he is now and convince him/her to speak for you.

Maybe you can send them some bank statements that you were really paid for the work you did for this company. ( It is immaterial , what small change you were paid, in those days of of your career building)

If they need company profile, than Registrar of companies will have a copy, even if company is closed.

I think you need to send them all available evidence , to best of your capability. I believe immigration officer defifinitely needs some hard evidence , otherwise you won't be asked.

Jim,

Thanks.

I am trying to get hold of a client who can give me an evidence of the
project I had undertaken. Would that be OK?

Cheers,
Oz

Ashok,

They want my period of service, the title of my position and a
description of duties while at my ex-company.

I had provided them a letter of offer containing my job title and
description (not mentioned in detail), salary and a resignation
letter. I do not know what more do I need to give. A programmer
analyst role is much the same no matter what tool you use. "you write
code and you modify existing code".

Having seen SAP crash I jumped onto Java. I was recruited as a trainee
and not much changed in 2 years of employment with them. It was a time
when "Java crashed" immediately after SAP. I was reluctant to request
them a detailed letter, it meant something else. I hung on, until I
got my Australian work visa, I had resigned and didn't bother to look
back.

I am currently speaking to a client at that time, but they are not
keen to look into my case. Damn, I had left India after this job, and
was only overseas except for my current job. I will end this soon and
I am going to receive a positive decision.

Please tell me as to how I could access the registrar of companies?

Cheers,
Oz.

OZramesh
From your post it is clear, CHC Cairo is interested in you not in your company. So some how you need to give them convincing proof of all 3 things you described( service period/Title and Job description)

Can you get hold of the owner of the company you served. Owner is the best bet. Where ever he/she is , if you get a 1 page letter from them, I think your requirement is met.

Whether private limited or public limited , all companies are registered with the registrar of companies in India. And your present company Chartered accountant or Company secretary knows its address.
They can retrieve a cerified copy of the memorandum of understanding , which lists complete composition of the company and name of owners along with bussiness activities. >>> Even if company is closed >>. I believe it may not be necessary now.

In my case one of my past employer(US MNC), has changed hands 3 times , I wonder anyone at top (now)can give me any new certficates but I have companies 10 years of annual reports , which lists my old employer, my name and my annual salary of that year. So I am clinging on to such annual reports. In case your old company issued some annual finacial reports with your name on it , that can also be good proof for atleast your having served that company.

Just try to remember what kind of support documents you can gather.

As such I agree , your job discripion should be essentially same except for higher responsibilty as you moved up .

Best of luck.

MR Andrew any comments. You know it best.
