Contact number for CIC from USA

Contact number for CIC from USA
I want to call CIC from US. If I dial the regular number 1-888-242-2100 my call is not getting connected. Can someone pls tell me the number I can use.

I don't know the exact number, but I 'm guessing you have the right one...
you'll be lucky if your call go through these kind of systems, and even
luckier if you can speak to someone in person... You need to persist, try
early in the day (in the timezone of where this office is located)...

Get a Canadian phone card, and dial the 1-888-... number just like you
would a regular Canadian number (say, 1-604-....). I don't know if all
cards would work from the US, but those from www.goldline.net
(inlcuding those "for US residents") did, and the rate was the same as
to any normal Canadian number.

cards would work from the US, but those from www.goldline.net

My understanding from the website is that the number can only be used from
within Canada and they do not provide any number that anyone else can use to
call them directly.

You can reach the CIC call centre at +1 416 973-4444 from anywhere in the
world (this is not a toll-free call though).

Get a canadian calling card. I've had to dial US 1-800 numbers that were not accessible from Canada and it worked with a calling card. Do a google search.
