Common-Law
Does anyone know the exact definition of Common-law for entry in to Canada? I am from Canada and my partner is from Scotland, on 2 separate occasions we've called through to Citizenship & Immigration Canada and were told 2 separate answers.
One is that you have to have lived together ANYWHERE (Canada or Scotland) for 1 year with proof
The other is it has to be for 1 year within Canada
Any help would be greatly appreciated, the website doesn't really offer any more details bar saying Common-Law = 1 year of living together.
Cheers!

Re: Common-Law
Thanks for that!
They can't seem to give us a straight answer there, but we pretty much assumed it was 1 year anywhere in the world!
Cheers!
