1. Citizenship Application sent on April 10th, 2011 From Vancouver

2. Application received by CIC on April 14th, 2011

3. "Acknowledgment Letter with Study Guide" received on July 8th, 2011

4. They started processing application on Feb 14, 2012 (as mentioned in Client Application Status)

5. "Notice to appear for the Citizenship test" letter received on March 16th, 2012

6. Test taken on April 5th, 2012 (3 weeks btw the time I received the notice and the actual test).

7- "Notice to take the Oath" letter received on June 28th, 2012

8- Oath Day on July 13th, 2012 (3 months & 1 week btw the Test and the Oath)

Probably been asked before but i dont have time to read through the entire thread..do you have to wait until you have been in Canada for the allotted time before you apply or can you apply before knowing it could be 6months - 1 year before they look at your application?

Good but its says children under18 dont need to fulfill this requirement..what is the requirement for them as it does not say?

"To apply for citizenship for a child under 18, make sure the following conditions are met:

the person applying is the child’s parent, adoptive parent or legal guardian

the child is a permanent resident, but does not need to have lived in Canada for three years; and

one parent is already a Canadian citizen or is applying to become a citizen at the same time. This also applies to adoptive parents."

The requirements are stated right there.....

It is now coming up to 19 months since they started processing my application. Seriously thought it would be all done by 1st July 2012. Not sure what the hold up is but they decided to transfer my app' to Moncton, NB instead of my nearest office (Halifax, NS). I see others that seem to have got theirs inside of the space of 10 months in other provinces. Hardly seems fair.

Wish they'd transfer my application to Calgary (from Vancouver).

The system seems completely barmy to me. It would make more sense, and would be fairer, if the process was centralized.
