Hi, my husband has driven from b.c to Calgary on orientation with his company. They have decided to offer him a job here now instead of b.c
My question is can his work permit be changed at border control in Calgary airport, or does he have to travel to the border and have it changed there.
He has a b.c tempory work permit already which myself and our children will be needed to be added to also.
Anyone know the fee cost for a family? I no it was $150 just for him.
Thanks guys.

Read this link.
Is the job the same, and the same employer but just a different work location?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/extend-stay.asp
CIC should just be able to change the work location and not charge extra fees.
You could call 1 888 242 2100 see what they suggest. The TWP was issued for the employer in BC but now they want him to work in Calgary?
This could be interesting especially if an LMO was applied for only for the BC location.

The company have jobs running in both provences and yes they have issued a new Lmo work offer stating he is now to work in Calgary, so he now needs a new work permit as his current one is issued in b.c. also me & the children have decided to stay also so we too need adding to it

The permit states, must not work in any other state than currently stated. So it only covers him in b.c

If a new LMO has been issued for the Calgary job then he is ok. Who is paying for the TWP? If flying from BC to Calgary or driving Calgary Airport will not issue a new TWP if not arriving from a flight outside of Canada.
You could if driving go through the States and cross back in at a land border crossing. If its a new TWP then the $150 will need paying on issue.
If intending to get a SOWP then you shouldnt have to pay if already issued one. Are you eligible for a SOWP. Kids dont need to do anything.

Looks like its a border trip. I myself as his wife will be added to the permit, we have all paperwork, marriage certificates etc. Will I need to take the children along with us, or will there passorts & birth certificates be enough??
They both need to now attend school, and Im right in thinking they can't attend school till the work.permit is changed and there names are added.
