changing address on My CIC/IRCC
So a friend of my partners who used to work at the IRCC building on Hornby Street in Vancouver informed me last night that I needed to let IRCC know I have moved addresses. I do not currently have an application in place online.
Im not sure if its true (it isn't the first time he has given 'dodgy' advise) but I didn't know if IRCC need to know of those with PR status when they change their address within Canada.
I am planning on applying for citizenship towards the end of this year so they will already know that I moved in May as they will want my address history.
If I do need to tell them I have moved, is it better to do this vis their online web message system.
Thanks

Re: changing address on My CIC/IRCC
Your acquaintance continues to give you incorrect information. As a PR/Citizen you are not required to inform IRCC any time you change your address. When you do your annual ITR you will then inform the G of C if your address has changed.
