Re: Canadian travelling to and from the States on a British passport.
I'm off next week and was planning on a trip south of the border for a couple of days. However; I just applied for my Canadian passport and in doing so have had to send off my citizenship certificate.
This effectively leaves me with no physical proof that I am a Canadian citizen.
Now, I fully expect to have to go and see the nice guys at US Immigration on the way into the States to sort out a visa waiver, but what about on the way back at Canadian immigration? Anybody had a similar experience and how did they get around it?

The problem is more on the US side, because as part of the check for non-immigrant intent they're trained to ask for proof of your right to live in Canada (as you haven't produced proof that you're Canadian, but you say you live there) but it's not usually a major issue. Have a copy of your lease, deed, rental agreement, etc. just in case.

Couldn't have been easier really. More confusion on the US side as to why I was 'claiming' to be a Canadian citizen, but on the way back, I just explained the situation and handed the border guard my COPR with my passport and after a few taps on her unseen computer (I assume), she waved me through.
So there!
