can you get refused PR after passing meds?
just a quick questions!
as the title says, if you've passed your medical (we hope!
) is that it?!
we've supplied all the info and nothing's come back yet... so are we just waiting for that "Yes". or is there going to be some sting in the tail?!
getting impatient. last medical info was sent to CHC on 20th july, give or take a few days.

Yes, you still can get refused. Nothing is sure until you have visa and land, providing of course that visa was obtained without omission, misrepresentation or fraud. If obtained through one of these then immigrant can be deported at any time, even years after becoming Canadian citizen.

Just out of curiousity on what further grounds can they say no? Surely the security checks etc would have been done already?

Depending from visa post some checks are still going on when medical forms are mailed. Something may pop up during background (verification of bio data, education and experience credentials) or security checks at any given time.

We didn't get our PPR's until at least a month after meds (see timeline) so don't get too fretful yet. It'll come I'm sure. Remember everything is slower at the moment as it's summer. Try not to spend your waiting time getting paranoid (as we all do!). Just relax and envisage the brown paper envelope dropping onto the mat in the next couple of weeks.
