Can i sponsor my wife immediately after landing

Hi Experts ,
Here is my situation .
1. Lets say I land in Canada on Dec 2002.
2. Have a Job and sufficient money
3. Got married on Jan 2003 .
My question is Can I bring my wife to Canada on Feb 2003 ? or Do I need to wait for certain time ? From the cic website I did not find any clue though in this mailing list I think i somewhere read that i have to wait 1 year and then i can apply and it will take another 6 months . Please advice ...

If she gets a canadian visitor visa , comes here and u get married, then u can
sponsor her inside canada and in this case ur exempt from financial requirement.
Check the CIC site where it mentions applying inside canada

You can apply to sponsor her as a spouse immediately after getting married. Since she
will be your spouse, there is no financial requirement (LICO).
There is no mandatory "waiting period", but the amount of time that it will
actually take to get approval and have her arrive in Canada will vary depending on
which country she lives in and how long it takes to process security clearances,
medicals, etc.
As the previous respondant indicated, if your spouse can come to Canada as a visitor,
and you marry here, then you are able to sponsor her from within Canada, and
therefore not have to endure the hardship of separation.
Of course in order to bypass the separation completely, you could marry her before
your visa is issued and then have her added to your application for immigration.

Today I had called Buffalo . They say me that you have to have employment for one year before sponsoring . But in the cic website I did not find anything like that. My spouse is from Romania . It does not make any sense to stay separated a day after married. Thanks for all of your reply .

If you are sponsoring a fiance, then yes, you would have to be employed for a year so
that they can see that you meet LICO. BUT if you are sponsoring a spouse you don't
have to meet LICO. Probably Buffalo misunderstood what you were asking.
