Default Can I sponsor family soon after getting the PR?

Hey!
I received my PR last week. I want to bring my family here in Canada. I read about sponsorship here Avoiding A Refusal In A Spousal Sponsorship Application | Matthew Jeffery. I want to know if there will be any issues if apply for so early ? The blog says "The sponsor must agree to support spouses, common-law partners or conjugal partners for at least 3 years after they arrive in Canada."
Will I have to show any bank balance for sponsoring? or Would the income certificate do fine?

Well the first question that might be asked is why your family were not included on your PR application in first place. Are we talking wife, common law partner and maybe children or are we talking parents or siblings ? Proof of funds is just one of the criteria .Also as a new PR you have an obligation to maintain residency for at least 2 years out of next 5 years. Also just a point do not rely on information on 3 rd party websites such as agents or immigration lawyers always start with the official CiC sites. Note for an onshore spouse sponsorship current processing time is shown as 26 months and 17 months if offshore. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...s/3900ETOC.asp

I want to sponsor my mom and dad. At first, I did not have plans of bringing them here to Canada. My mom wants to stay with me. So I thought of getting them here. Thanks for sharing the website. I will go through the details.

Ah that is a completely different scenario to spouse sponsorship and very difficult to achieve in that the CIC site does not even quote a processing time, in fact says they still processing applications from 2011. Recommends apply for a super visa instead which is an extended visitor visa for parents of a PR. Processing times here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...imes/index.asp info here re super visa http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/supervisa.asp although personally not sure if a super visa is an option for a visa exempt country like UK so others will i am sure input but based on info on CIC seems only possibility.

How long have you actually been in Canada? To sponsor a parent, you must show that you have at least 3 year income over the LICO from Canadian sources, so if you've only just moved there you won't be able to apply for a good while yet.

I have been here for the last 5 years @christmasoompa. I am moving ahead with my application. I just hope I won't have much issues.

That should be fine then. You can't apply until next year (this year's quota is full), do make sure it's all ready to go as soon as it reopens as spaces go quickly!

Good luck.

The Supervisa is possible for those who are visa exempt:

Apply – Visit your children or grandchildren

I'm also quite interested in the Supervisa for my parents. As I've not landed yet, I know I won't be able to sponsor them for some time, since I don't have funds from a Canadian source yet. I was wondering for the Super Visa, do I need to show I have proof of funds from Canadian sources, or can I show proof of funds I have already at home? I was also wondering if they have diabetes/high blood pressure and on medication, would this affect their medicals/decision made by IRCC?
