Can I go to Canada and Re-enter US
Hi,
I am Indian Citizen, Canadian Landed Immigrant, living and working in
US. I have stamped F1 VIsa valid till 2005. Approved H1 from INS. I-94
Valid till 2006. I want to go to Canada to apply for PR Card for not
more than 2-3 days.
Can I cross US-Canada border under Automatic Visa Revalidation ? Will
I be able come back US, if I do not apply for visa stamping ?
What is the situation of getting H1B stamping @ US Consulate of
Canada. I am just scared if my application for VISA Stamping get
rejected.
Any suggestions will be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you,
Udupi

Hi Udupi,
I guess you and i are in the same boat. I also am on an H1 Visa status
that i changed from F1. I dont have the H1B visa stamped in my
passport. I am also a candian landed immigrant and want to go to
Canada to apply for PR Card. Have you heard any news from other people
who have gone to Canada and used teh automatic visa revalidation rule
to come back to the US. Have you heard anyone being deined entry on
that basis. Also any experience from other people that you might have
heard from regarding H1B visa stamping from Toronto or any other US
Consulate in Canada.
Please let me know if you have. I am in the same boat as you are and
trying to get all the facts straight before i go to Canada.
Thanks for you help

Re: Can I go to Canada and Re-enter US
Hi Naveed,
So far I heard only good news about getting visa stamping US Consulate
@ Canada. Did not hear anything about rejection of visa stamping for
Landed immigrant and neither about Invalidity of AVR Regulation.
People say so many different things. I refer www.immigration.com -
forum as well as www.murthy.com - forum too. In www.immigration.com
forum you'll find lots of info in this regard.
By the by which country citizen you are ? If you happened to know
anything let me know.
Good luck
Udupi.
