Default Can I apply working Visa if I am a volunteer?

Hi,

I am an Internation student and just grad this year. Due to I don't have much working experience, I can only work as a volunteer. My question is can I get the working visa if I am a volunteer?
ps. The job I will do is match what I study in the university.

I think work permit is only for jobs in which you earn wages not for
volunteers/interns(where there is earnings).

I am also a recent grad and I had asked the int'l student counsellor at my
university about this previously.
The answer is:
You will need a work permit even if you are volunteering if the company you
are working at is a commercial organization, exemption of a work permit is
only for non-profit organizations. You will need to provide proof of funds
to support yourself while you're working in Canada and a job offer letter to
get your work permit.

Thanks Kat

But I think the working visa for volunteer should be more difficult.
good luck for your job hunting.
