Default Can 'I' apply for PR?

I'm looking at all possibilities for us to apply for PR, so here's the info ..

OH is employed here in Alberta - unskilled - so we can't get arranged employment, and he doesn't have enough points for us to apply for PR as a foreign worker that's already been here for over 12 months.

I've just checked my points, and I have enough, but I'm only here as an accompanying spouse not eligible to work (because of unskilled noc), however, legally here! Do I qualify to apply for PR based on the fact that I've been living in Canada legally for over 12 months, or do I have to be the foreign worker to qualify?

Any thoughts much appreciated! We're desperately seeking a way through, and getting an employer to apply for an LMO is challenging

No, you don't qualify for Canadian Experience Class as you have neither worked in a skilled occupation or studied in Canada.

It wasn't CEC I was looking at, more FSW Cat 3 - does that still apply, because I haven't physically worked here myself?

Hi,

unfortunately you do not qualify in my opinion.

The CIC requirement is:

"you are a foreign national who has been living legally in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student"

The problem is that you are an accompanying spouse without a work permit, right?

As you are neither a foreign worker nor an international student you do not qualify for this category.

All the best!

Unfortunately, that's how I read it - but was hoping for something different!! It's back to my intense job hunting then!

Thanks for your input
