Default Can car be imported later ?

Hi experts

I will be driving across the detroit-windsor border in my car.

I m not sure if I'll be importing the car or not till I get some cost estimates for the modifications I need.
I do not wish to start the process of importing it (declare it) at the border at the first time.

Can I drive into Canada and then later start the processing for importing it ? What would be the process then ?

In that case how can I avoid paying taxes and duties later ?

Also, about goods to follow - Can I and my dependent have separate 'goods to follow' list ??( he is coming from another country at a different time)

Apreciate your reply

Thanks so much !

They might ask you at the boarder what you gonna do with you car. Some people said that they had to go and declair it even though they said they have other goods to follows.
Whatever your reason might be for not importing car at the same time, check out this website and it might help you.

All the best!
