hi in case anybody is new to joining expats is anyone applied under the trade category? Our application has been in process since 3rd of April and nada since, keep getting the generic reply from Ottawa saying they will only reply to our email if they are outwith their processing times for our category but their is no times on cic website for the trade only the fsw and all the others. They also said they are currently processing applications received between 2010 and 2012, not filling us with much confidence to say the least !

The timelines they are quoting you (2010-2012) are for FSW applications, which is strange.

I would email them again and specify that you have applied under the FSW TRADES stream, (which only came into effect this year!); I would also include a copy of your husbands Alberta certification with Red Seal endorsement to show proof that he is qualified to apply under that stream.

Ask them if they require any further information or documentation in order to finalise your application.
