Default Buying a new car in US/Canada. Which is better

What is a better option...buying a car/SUV in US or Canada... Lets
forget about the duty and importing fees..I am talking about only the
cost I would pay the dealer in canada/US and the extra cost of
customizing the car to Canadian standards if I buy in US
YOur input will be valuable.
Thanks,

There was an article in the Vancouver Sun this past week on how with the
increase in the Canadian $ that luxury vehicles (hummer, escalade, etc) were
now cheaper in the US, but warranty work could only be done in US if
imported to Canada, except for recalls.

I bought car from both in US and Canada.

In my opinion, if you live in US most of the time, then buy US made. Even
for a short visit to Canada is alright with US license plate.

But if you are living in Canada, then buy Canadian made car. The reason
being if the car is US made then you have to (1) upgrade safety and emission
standard (2) install DRL-daytime running light (3) upgrade recall features

If anyone is buying *that* kind of vehicle, it will actually be cheaper to
live in the USA and not move to Canada at all !!
Because the likes of Hummer et al are going to guzzle gas at a rate where
you will end-up spending 50% of your disposable income on gas alone.
Best to live in a place where gas prices are rock bottom (south/south-east
USA).

Assuming, of course, we are talking about a regular skilled worker,
salaried, immigrant and not a multi-million dollar casino baron
