Bringing money from Bank of America

Hi everyone.
I have $10,000 in my account in California with "Bank of America" which I eventually
plan to take to Canada. As I understand, the bank statement will suffice for proof of
landing, and I want to keep my account, so I have no reason to close it before
leaving. What is the best option (and why)?
1- Have a cashier's check be issued under my own name (Bank of America has a branch
in Canada that does this for them)
2- Go to Canada, open an account, then deposit a personal check from my BoA account
3- Go to Canada, open an account, then wire transfer the amount from my BoA account
4- Bring traveler's checks or something similar

I had the same problem when applying for the visa in Moscow, Russia. I brought
American Express cheques to the embassy, but the embassy guy said, "No, we need a
statement from a western bank."
By the way, it doesn't HAVE TO BE a Canadian bank. As long as it's in a normal
western bank, in a country with banking laws, it's okay. Since Russia was and is so
volatile, I had to open an account in the west, transfer money there and then come
back to the embassy with a statement.
In your case, since your money is in the US, I am sure that just a statement will
be enough.

1) is the best option. You don't need to maintain $10000 in your BoA account to keep
the account open.
