Default b'fd date - Messrs Humphries/Miller

Sirs,

I've gained a lot of insight from reading postings on b'fd dates but I
need you to help me with this:

supposing my b'fd date was 01/01/05 does that mean that;

1. Come what may, on that day an officer will review my file

2. A decision (positive or negative) will be made on my application

Your response will be deeply appreciated

It means that, if nothing has happened on your file by then, an officer is
supposed to review it to see what the problem is. Not all processing is
done within the visa office and they are probably waiting for the results of
background checks.

1. If no activity occurs prior to BFD then officer will take a look at your
file to check if everything is normal, to see if any action should be taken
and will enter new BFD

2. Not at all - unless at that time all tasks are already completed and file
is ready for any decision.
