Default Arrest - Affect application?

Hi

About 7 years ago i was arrested for something i did not do. Police arrested a group and i was caught up in this mess. I was released without charge. Police did charge the right person after they admitted guilt and cctv footage was viewed. Reason i ask this is it mentions arrests, convictions etc on application forms. When i tick yes, what is likely to happen? I have a police cert already and that is clear. I decided to get a police cert due to recieving a police caution 6 years back (mis spent youth). I have not been in any bother since but feel like my silly past may stop myself & our wife from our dreams.

Any info would be fantastic

Many thanks

Just answer the questions as they apply to you and give any required explanations. It is convictions that count or unfinished court cases.

Just be honest and explain what happened. Maybe add a note simular to what u wrote here explaining what happened. I don't think you have anything to worry about. You were NOT charged and your police check will show that.

If you checked NO on the form, then you might have something to worry about. Just tell the truth.

Thanks for the reply's..

No, i was never charged but arrested for something that had nothing to do me. Wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong peeps. I was given a caution but that has now been removed from my records...

So when i answer yes to the arrest. In the box that says please give details if answered yes to the question, do i go into detail or just put the nature

eg

cautioned for possesion of a pack of mints 6 years ago

arrested but released without charge on suspession of blah blah?

Should that be enough details?

Having been through the process and having seen loads of postings in the past 3-4 years, I can only say be honest and tell them exactly what they ask for. From what I have seen, if you do not admit something and they find out, you'll be put under a microscope. If you were arrested, but not charged, then you should have nothing to worry about.

If it was a caution and it does not even appear on your police record, then you shouldnt worry at all..
Like everybody said, explain the whole situation and everything would be fine!!
