Applying for immigration before ielts
Hi
I wanna apply for immigration to Canada.
I am an Australian citizen.
Its gonna take a while till I do the ielts test and get the results (maybe 2 months).
During this time, can I apply for immigration and when get my ielts results I can update my application?
Thx

If you mean Express Entry, No. You need the test. I'd start doing some practice tests if I were you.

Yep, what she said. IELTS is mandatory for EE. If you're asking about another visa route, please specify which so that we can help.

You are required to input your English test scores right at the start of the application.
If you're going to take the test, definitely practice. I don't think I'd have got full marks it I wasn't familiar with the test format and what was expected.
The listening purposefully tries to trick you, being familiar with this before hand will be good then you understand what you're listening for.
The free online training materials are sufficient.

I quite like using it occasionally - Oink I think introduced it to me....What a surprise
No doubt we will get rollocked for talking fripperies on the Immigration forum ...well, I will anyhow (never used that one ..."roll eyes")

Wait, do you have to hand write your answers on IELTS?
Oh man. I took a final written CompSci exam last year and had to request special permission because I hand write everything in block capitals these days and programming code is case sensitive.
Hand writing in the 'usual' way tends to give me RSI unfortunately.

IELTS it is then. You may just have to start practicing with upper and lower case letters - they are very strict with their marking and exam conditions so legible handwriting is a must (something I struggled with)
