Hi Everyone,
I'm glad to have found this newsgroup. I'm on an H-1 visa in the US and will be
applying for a Canadian immigration later this month. I have a BSc. degree (CS) from
the US and about 1 1/2 of experience(all in the US) and 'am currently working in a
consulting firm. I have the following questions:
1) In the application form, do I need to include my credit card debits in the US?
Will it affect their decision? Do they check the applicant's credit history?
2) Concerning the referral letters for my employments, do I submit referral letters
for all the past companies I've worked for?
3) I don't want my current company to know that I want to immigrate to Canada. Do I
need their referral letter also or can I do without it? Can anyone tell me how
they got their's?
4) What are the various job information that have to be included in the
referral letter?
Thank you, very much in advance.

You asked some questions:
>

credit history?
You have to answer all question on the application truthfully. With = respect to
funds, it is important to know that you will require = sufficient funds to settle in
Canada. This usually means that you = should have enought to live for at least six
months. This can be taken = to mean approximately $10,000 for the first person and an
additional = $2,000 for each person on the application.

referral letters for all the past companies I've worked for?
The burden is on you to satisfy the officer that you are skilled and = experienced in
the occupation you intend to pursue in Canada. So you = should put together all
information that could help you prove that.

Canada. Do I need their referral letter also or can I do without it?
If you can't get a letter from an employer, you should write a letter = with the
reasons why you cannot to the visa post and send with your = application. You should
also write your own description of what you did = in detail. If you can provide
supplemental or secondary evidence, then = this may be useful too.

the referral letter?
Well, if you intend to pursue an occupation in Canada you should include = any and
all such information that would show what you did, how you did = it, for how long,
any special things you may have done, all training you = may have undergone, etc...
