apply within canada!
hi guys,
i have a few questions since i'm a beginner in canadiam immigration laws.i have a green card in the US and wanna move to canada, i do know that i have to apply at Buffalo from usa , but i was wondering if i can cross the border into canada with a green card(i know i can i did it before), and apply under skilled worker for residence there.
and another question, how do you prove your english language ability to speak?you either have to take a test like cambridge or prove some other way, but CIC don't specify how. for example i took one year of medical school in USa including clinicals in hospital, that will be good enough to show that i can speak english?
best,
Lynn.

Looks like you need to return to CIC website and read all related info there
once again. You'll find out that you cannot apply from within Canada - you
must do it outside Canada through visa post responsible for processing
immigration applications from your place of residence. And you'll find out
that you need to take IELTS or CELPI test to prove your proficiency in
English and TEF test to do the same with French. It is all there. Going to
school in US proves absolutely nothing when it comes to the level of your
proficiency in English.

Providing Other
Written Evidence
We strongly recommend that you take an official language test if you are claiming skills in a language that you have not used from birth.
If you choose not to take an approved language test, you must prove your ability to speak, listen, read and write Canada's official languages through other written evidence. You must provide written proof and explanation that clearly shows you meet the benchmark criteria listed in the Canadian Language Benchmarks in each of the four skills.
You Must:
Submit your written explanation and documentation with your application. This material should include:
a written submission explaining your training in English or French;
an explanation of how you commonly use English or French;
official documentation of education in English or French; and
official documentation of work experience in English or French.
Note:
CIC officers will not assess your language skills at any interview.
CIC will not consider any language test other than one from organizations approved by CIC.
What Happens Next:
An officer from Citizenship and Immigration Canada will look at the evidence you include with your application.
Your submission must satisfy the officer that your language skills meet the benchmarks for the level you are claiming.
The officer does not have to ask you for more evidence so include as much evidence and documentation with your application as you can.
The officer will award points for your language ability based on what you send with your application. You will not know how many points the CIC Officer gives you for your language skills or if the CIC Officer is satisfied that you have clearly demonstrated the level of language skills you claim on your application.

maintaining your gc as well as canadian pr together might be
tough. anyway you will need to apply in chc buffalo and work in us
meanwhile till they process your case ( >1 to 1.5 year)
