Default Application Status has changed to " In Process "

Hi every one
since Wednesday 4/01/2012 my application status has changed from "RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE" to "IN PROCESS", does this mean something is happening? because apart from the status nothing else has changed, I mean there is nothing has added to this page:
"We received your application for permanent residence on February 9, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 22, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the London England office on March 30, 2010. The London England office may contact you"

Any idea guys?
Thanks

Your application is now in process. Before that it was merely sitting on a shelf.
Good news at last.

You need to keep an eye out for when it says 'in process' and then 'we started processing your application on xxxxx' in the details - that's when proper processing has started and medical requests will actually be imminent.

Good luck.

Hiya,

Sharing my experience with you...our application status changed, like yours did, in May 2011.
Our next page stayed the same as yours remains.
This only changed on Dec 9th 2011 (to "we began processing your application on December 9th..), after contact from CIC saying that they would be reviewing our application in the near future (after I'd sent them an Arranged Employment Opinion).
Just under a month later, medical requests were received.
Hope this helps
Katie

Our FSW Cat 2 application went IN PROCESS, as in the ECAS saying, "We started processing your application on 26th July" and yet our meds did not come until 29th November (posted on about the 9th November), so all I can say from that is that when our processing started our med requests were not exactly "imminent".

We have just had passport requests 3 days before Christmas and our passport were delivered to London on Friday.

That is 16 months todayfrom application received at CIC.

It may be 18 months before we have Visas in hand.

I would relax and let it take its course - you are being processed, which is the important thing.

Good news at last.

My investor application now says in process too. No other message, simply the date we applied, july 2009.

I have to admit I have no idea what it said before, when we applied the letter said it wouldnt go anywhere for 3 years so I have never looked.

Australia has made me tooo relaxed LOL

Lots of MI1 FSW applications got "In Process" marked on ECAS last year but don't think it means anything really. As christmasoompa says, the status needs to be updated stating when they started processing - medical requests should follow a few weeks/months after. I have to say I'm not really sure what processing involves - do they really write to all your referees/police etc and sit tight till they receive all responses. My fear would be that if they do then there's bound to be tardy / non responses.

We are rapidly approaching 17 months post AOR and still nothing. If we don't hear this year then I'm making other plans.

I think that only if any alarm bells ring or something doesn't add up, would they contact referees. The people who i've seen on here, whose apps have been updated with, "we started processing on xxx" have only had very short times before meds are received so I doubt in those case they will have had time. In our case, I'm certain that anyone who had been contacted by CIC would have rung us to let us know!

I'm sure you'll be hearing something soon

HA HA HA
Our Application status changed to In Process on 4/1/2012, tonight they added this "Your application was reviewed and we started processing on January 11, 2012." to my status. Finger cross. I wonder what is the next thing I am going to hear from them!

It looks good from the new entry wording. Now you wait some more! Sorry, but that's likely for now. Anyway things are moving.
