So, I sent my application off and it was received this morning in Mississauga (According to Canada post tracking). What now? Will I receive an email when a file is opened which means I can start tracking it visa ecas?

The sponsor will get an email/letter once the application is opened. It'll have a file/client number attached to it that can be used to access eCAS

We got ours around new years day so about 2-3 weeks. Obviously depends on when they do actually open your file and look at it. Depends on processing times as always.

Should do.

If it's currently 30 days through Mississauga thats not too much different to when I applied in December. All things equal expect something around the 2nd week of June

I see that you're already in Canada on the IEC visa so you already have your own client number and would have received that in one of the emails you got around the time you were approved.

Your sponsor will get a different number but CIC should "match" them up around the same time they open your package.

Yeah I already have a UCI. I was wondering whether I could use that to track it...

You will. Not sure if it'll start working at the exact same time as the number your sponsor will get but it should be close in any event.

Should get an email at some point that says they have received the application.

The approval is a letter.
