How long does it take from your forms being reviewed by the Commissioners to hearing about your medicals then receiving your visas?

We heard that from the day the letter comes through requesting you to go for the medicals it would take between one to three months to receive your visa.

Depends which route you are going down, skilled worker, PNP etc. By the way there is a room for immigration topics, excellent guy called Andrew Miller replies to posts there and should be able to provide specific, accurate answers to any questions about immigration issues.

Not sure how anyone finds out when their Initial Assessment is, so cant comment on that in terms of timescales.
For Skilled Worker applications it seems to take from 2 weeks to about 3 months to get Passport request after medicals.

It depends from many factors. If you have arranged employment with positive AEO (or already working in Canada) or PNP certificate and are eligible to submit full application then procesing time in total may take 9 to 14 months. If you don't have arranged employment or PNP and as a result can only submit simplified application form then you will likely not hear anything from CHC for at least 4-5 years, after that you will be asked to submit full application package and from that time it will take another 4 to 12 months to get visa (if approved).

We read it somewhere on the internet (you read so much you forget where sometimes).

Our forms have been in since Oct 2004. And our representatives have told us that they were reviewing them on 30 January 2007. So fingers crossed that we hear something by mid February.
