Default AOR - Email?

Hi all, wishing you a happy 2011!

Quick question, I sent my 120 day pack on November 3rd 2010, I have yet to receive an AOR, will it come through by email?

They are probably not going to send an AOR for an update. They will try to avoid what they consider to be unnecessary correspondence. Always send your own to them by some sort of recorded delivery service.

Thanks,

We sent it royal mail recorded delivery so we know it has got there, but I didnt know whether they would send out an acknowledgement or how I can track things from here? Where do I go to see if things are being processed?

There is a computer system called Ecas which is available from the CICs website but it can be very frustrating and teasingly uninformative. You need your file number found on the 120 day letter. The best way is to be patient, hard as that may be.

Are you sure Jim? I know you're the pro, but from what I've understood, the OP has just sent their full application in after the 120 email, so it's not an update and they should get a normal AOR by post shouldn't they?

I also thought that AORs had stopped...but then again I might be wrong.

Has any post June apps got and AOR yet I wonder?

The OP must have applied pre 26th June though, so I thought they should have an AOR.

But in answer to your questions, yes, they have been received by post June apps, I believe Waggle posted about it not long ago.

My view would be that the 120 day letter acknowledges the application since the visa office received the vestigial one from Sydney RPC.

Your totally right...was put off by the timing of sending off of the 120 day pack and assumed they were post June.
However, I worked it out and I got that the OP sent it off on day 119. Hope it got there on time
All the best of luck

OK, so I've just had to Google 'vestigial' to find out what it means........and I'm still none the wiser. The first entry said -

1.Of or pertaining to a vestige or remnant; like a trace from the past.
2.Not fully developed in mature animals.

I shall figure it out, and make it my word of the day tomorrow!

Anyway, from my understanding, the OP has had their 120 day email to confirm their application forms were received at CIO Sydney, but should be expecting the normal AOR letter from London visa office which gives them their expected processing time etc - shouldn't they?

Thanks for all of your replies, according to royal mail our pack was signed for and received on day 119 (cutting it fine I know!) and I have now checked ecas and nothing other than our Sydney AOR is on there. So as I applied before 26th of June I should still receive AOR? I'll wait and see

Default Re: AOR - Email?

As you can see from my timeline our application reached London visa office on 8th October, I personally handed it in, we too have not had an AOR as yet?? And ECAS is still not updated, just mentioning the fact that we got the 120 day letter sent, nothing to say recieved by visa office as yet??

So being worried I sent a case specfic email and got a reply just before Christmas saying -

'Your documents have been received and placed on file. Your application has been placed in a queue awaiting review by an officer. No further action is required by you at this time' ...

It put my mind at rest knowing that they had not lost it, not sure if we will actually get an AOR now or not as there seems to be a bit of a debate on here as to if they still send them out?

Will now give it a long wait until I contact the visa office again and regulary check ECAS.

Fingers crossed for all

Lots of post-June 26th applications have had correspondence from CIO by e-mail. The process seems to have changed quite a bit, as the wording on the e-mails indicates. Here is the exact wording of the e-mail that CIO is currently sending to Cat 1 applicants post June 26th.

23 November 2010
  UCI: xxxxxxx
*XXXXXX*
Application: XXXXXX
XXXXXXX
Dear xxxxxxxxxxxx
This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Federal Skilled Worker class.
The Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism issued instructions which were published in the Canada Gazette on June 26, 2010. These instructions specify that only applicants who have experience in certain listed occupations or applicants who have an offer of Arranged Employment are eligible to be processed in the Federal Skilled Worker class.
Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing on the basis of:
X Work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of
Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on
June 26, 2010.
Arranged Employment in Canada
Please note: The requirements for Arranged Employment are outlined on: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/informa...72.asp#factor5

Your application will be forwarded to the visa office for further processing.
Any future correspondence should be sent to the visa office. Your reference number is located below the date of this letter. You must quote this reference number in any future correspondence.

X This correspondence also acknowledges receipt of your payment dated 7 Sep 2010 in the amount of 1,250.00 Canadian dollars. Your Payment Receipt No. is XXXXXXX. Please keep a copy of this letter for your records and quote this number on all correspondence relating to application fees or refunds.

This correspondence also acknowledges receipt of your Fee Payment Form IMM 5620 authorizing CIC to take payment of processing fees using the credit card details provided. Please be informed that we processed a payment of Canadian dollars on this credit card (ending in ). Your receipt number is . Please keep a copy of this letter for your records and quote this number on all correspondence relating to application fees or refund
Please inform the visa office of any changes in your application (e.g. birth or adoption of a child, marriage or common-law relationship, new occupation or employer, submission of an Arranged Employment Opinion approved by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc). Please include a letter identifying what the changes are and any relevant supporting documents. If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the originals.
This is a spreadsheet set up by the members of the forum to help them track the timelines. You can see that the response time has shortened continually since early July so now applicants are receiving a response in about 110 days from receipt of heir application by CIO.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?...=CLDXsFA#gid=0

As we now send all the documents at the beginning, there is no longer any need for an AOR as in the past, so no-one is quite sure what will happen when the pack gets sent to the Visa Office. I suspect the next communication after the e-mail from CIO will be either Police checks (if you have not included them in the original pack - there was a brief period in which London said you could put them in, but you didn't have to!!) or med requests.
Those of us who are post-June applicants are following this tracker to see when the first people on the list receive anything else to give us an idea of the next stage of the processing i.e. the Visa office stage.
