Experts/others pls adv
My question is if a PR marries a person (non-Canadian) and sponsors her (or him) and what will be his (her) liability in case of a divorce issue.
P.S: I mean a genuine/real marriage.

Depending on the length of sponsorship, likely 3 years. The sponsor would on the
hook for any social services costs (welfare, etc.) for that period.

the sponsorship agreement is with the canadian governament.. it survives a divorce and is enforcable till it expires...
the sponsored person on the other hand, once landing is completed, even if the relationship breaks down, are still pr's and can freely remain in canada (unless ofcourse the marriage is deemed to be a fraud and done just for the purpose of being sponsored; in that case the sponsor is liable for deportation costs)

Thank you for your answers. Is there a web site which has the details of sponsorship agreement.
